What blind are you using? Are you on Vista or XP?

What theme? That's a theme setting. If the author built it that way, you would have to use Skin Studio.

i have winxp, i still only have skinstudio professional.the blind is called wind ui from deviantart. the words "all programs" is a black square when mouseover. i tried changing the mouseover effect for the all program background but nothing changed when i clicked apply to blind....thanks

Throw up a link to the WB on DA. I've never heard of this skin

does anyone know how to eliminate a mouseover effect on the "ALL PROGRAMS". taking the color out.....thanks

yeah, you can add an arrow thats the same size as the allprograms background but in 3 states, then toggle with the all progs margin so it sits perfectly on top of the all progs background, so when you mouse over it, you only get yr design showing.

the margin to play with is the left side margin it has to be a negative number.....***

for example : all progs background is 120 wide so yr arrow will be 120x3 in size, first state is normal the second and third are mouse over

the left hand margin is the one to toggle with.....has to be a negative number for it to work. if you mouse over it and it still moves....its still out of wack, keep tweaking until you have no movement.

.......hope this helps...

as to your first problem.......that colour is :menu highlight found in skinstudio/miscellanious/colours/menu/menu highlight

ok, the menu highlight only has number value. if this is correct, this isn't working for mouseover color on the all programs background. i read somewhere that skinstudio professional which i think is 5, has trouble with settings for winxp? i posted a link to the blind which i really like but the maker won't respond to messages to reply. so i'm trying to fix this myself...thank you

ok, i got it. the mouseover was black on "all programs". i changed it to white which now you can still see the black letters of "all programs". how would you disable that mouseover? thank you for your help! :) ;)

It cant really be disabled but the arrow trick kitty is talking about will work
But after taking a look at the skin the "more programs background" has 3 frames
This should be only 11 So edit the image by cutting off the last 2 and change the frame count to 1.
Then follow kitty's direction on the arrow I would take a copy of the "more programs background" turn into 3states.to make the new arrow!

yea , im trying to post.. :)

You can't disable the more programs mouseover color without doing some major surgery to the blind and using a different method (aforementioned)

The pic above looks like a problem caused by a third party toolbar extension. Unload any of those (EG: Styler).. you maybe using and see if its still doing that.. just straight WB.. no add ons.

vStyler is right he hlped me fix this in my Silex WB !It has to do with the toolbar button and the diabled collor in the classic colors sec.
the diabled collor in the classic colors sec. is actually what is showing through!

ok, i never use toolbar or extenstions. i only use and install wb only. so where is this classic color setting? ...thanks guys :) :) .EDIT: this shadow doesn't appear in internet explorer. it only appears in windows...EDIT:..i opened up control panel again and played with the toolbar setting. when the "no text" is selected the grey shadow disappears. when "showtext" is selected there are shadows on both arrows and view. when "selective text on right" is selected this is what is shown in the screenshot above. i still would like to know though how to fix this. like i said, i use no add-on toolbars or anything.....thanks guys :) :)
