No mods work

I can't get any mods at all to work.  No matter what it is, from downloaded mods to mods where I just change one number in one file.

All that happens is it hangs at the options/mods screen and if I alt tab there's a message about a dmp file being made.  After I acknowledge that it crashes. 

I'm running v1.04 using mods for v1.04 or editing the v1.04 files.

I've done a lot of work on my own project so far (before I even started trying to playtest; stupid maybe) so this is really frustrating

If the game dumps with mods, then there's simply some error or mistake in them. It may help give more specific details if you open your user.setting file and change the following lines to TRUE:

LogOutput FALSE
ShowErrors FALSE

Ok, that helps actually. I have figured out what I was doing wrong with mine, though I'm not sure why a known good downloaded mod didn't work.

But all I want is for mine to work, so thanks.

It depends if the mod you downloaded is recent, i stick to the ones i find in the forums not in the download section
