Get me to the church on time!

Exciting news (for me, anyway) - I'm getting married!! We've been engaged for 3 years now, and we have finally set the date: 27th May 2006.

Now what?!

I have chosen my maid of honour and my bridesmaids and page boy, and we have decided on the church, but that's about as much as I can do at the moment. It all comes down to stupid amounts of money in the end :( Any donations or wedding gifts greatfully received!!!

Ok, I want all the details....how many bridesmaids, what colors are you thinking about having them wear, what kind of dress do you want, are you ahving silk or real flowers..you know, all that kind of stuff.

OK, I do have a few ideas so far:

I think I'll go for an ivory dress as apparently white looks better on darker skinned people, which I am not at all! I'd like just a plain dress, with something on it somewhere to make it stand out, you know? I know a local artist who has painted lillies down the side of a wedding dress for someone else, so I might find out about doing that.

I want white and pink lillies to decorate the church (real ones!), and I will probably go with shades of pink for the bridesmaids. Nothing garish, but just trying to follow a theme, here! I have one maid of honour, and I will have 2 bridemaids and 1 pageboy, all going to plan. My maid of honour is my friend, Sara, and the others are my partners nieces and nephews. They'll be something like 7, 5 and 3 when we get married, so will look extra cute!

Oh, I'd love a real vintage car to take us to the wedding! A beautiful blue Rolls Royce, maybe.

So, that's my ideas so far!

That seems like a long way away.  I am impatient.  We got engaged and were married about 6 months later.  Small wedding- still costs too much.  I wish we would have just eloped to vegas and got married by Elvis.

As long as you wear a morning coat, then a sweatshirt and jeans are fine!

Yes, I'm beginning to think that the Elvis option is better....

We might have to use a different church than the one we planned for as we don't have an address in the parish, it's absolutely HUGE, and would involve Finton going to church every month, which he's not entirely keen on!!
