Specific Artifacts for Planets

and disabling techs

Love the game!

Been tinkering with Gforge, like it so far, but I'm dismayed that artifacts are random and random distributed.

I've got a map in mind once I get a handle on how everything works - it will be based on the novel Mote in God's Eye but it requires 2 things I can't see how to set up:

First, I'd like to disable the ability to research any sort of "leave the vicinity of a star" type research (wormholes, long range jumps, etc.) especially for the AI.

Second, there is an artifact in the game that allows this sort of travel - my plan is to set the artifact up at a specific point (far enough away from the start planets that you don't get it immediately, but not so far away that you've gotten bored looking for it) that will allow the player to jump to another star system.

Is there a way to 1) disable researching specific tech and 2) define absolutely that X planet will have Y artifact and ONLY X planet will ONLY have Y artifact?

Thanks!

Yes, just open the racial player entity files, and remove those techs from their research lists ;) Make sure to update the count, too.

You can attach specific artifacts to specific planets, AFAIK it's map based and I don't mess with GalaxyForge so I forget how. I'm not sure you can make it so that that artifact can never spawn on other planets, though you could also create all artifacts manually and set the artifact chance on the map to 0, or something.

i'm trying this also... have an specific artifact for one planet and not by random... in galaxyforge i can only designate 4 types:hull, antimatter, weapon, and hyperdrive that randomize the 9 but my problem here sometimes you can get two of the same artifact or more of the same artifact...

now i'm trying to look for the .entity and .galaxy files if there are some workaround this... lol

EDIT: scratch my question... i found the answer already... lol
