Huge ramdom map question

When I start a new huge random map (with 5 stars), all the players start in two solar systems! (of the 5)
This happens almost all the time, other times it can be like 4 4 2 0 0, why's this? The point of playing the huge map for me is to be able to expand into a whole solar system and then taking on other systems.

This kind of ruins it for me, becouse of instead of expanding, I have to worry about 4 guys ganging up on me in my own system when there are 3 empty ones next door.

Does anyone else have this problem? and how can I fix it? Thanks :)

Even if it would distribute the players evenly on the system you will most likely start with at least another player in the system.

If you want to start in your own system, there are a few (non random) medium maps where you do. just watch out for maps with more stars than players.

I don't necessearly need my own system, just 1 or two other guys are enough when there are 5 systems and 10 players. So it always cluster us together and leaves the three other systems alone?

I think it was intended the way that there a few uncolonized system. there are usually 2 larger systems and 3 smaller ones and most of the palyers will start at the larger system so everyone will have the same space to expand.

Why "watch out for maps with more stars than opponents"? I like exploring
and developing in peace, so made a map with ten stars, 4 opponents (in
other systems). But even then I found enemy ships of some other factions
in my home system. I specified no more than 4 planets per system, but found 9
" " " ".
I think I came up against the software limitations, it wants battles.

Hey, this is easily remedied. DOWNLOAD GLAXY FORGE. Not to be rude, but a little editing time can help a lot here. I haven't actually played a galaxy with multiple systems, so I don't know how it works, exactly. But you can manually write worholes to other galaxies. So if my theory is right (you can only travel between suns), then just write a map with a lot of random planets and randomized appearance. Then put wormholes in between the systems. Five-seven stars with 120 possible planets should easily give lots of room to explore. The wormholes will slow your enemies down, and you can even choose where they start.

As for the "more planets than I specified" part...the game seems to have a minimum number of planets in each system if created by the engine. Again, however, you can build maps with the absolute minimum of three heavenly bodies (a star and two planets) or multiple systems with a single planet per system, or even less or more if you wish.

The Huge Random Map will make a system with 5 stars. However, only 2 of these stars will have any players around them. The other three will never have players around them. These are for colonizing. So there will be 5 on one and 5 on the other if you are playing with 10 people.
Don't believe me? Look at the notepad of the map inside the Program Files. It is designed to only have 2 of the 5 stars occupied from the beginning.
