Mirror 1

One of my friends (Magnus) did a mod for us and our little community (Celestial Order) and thought I'll share some of his hard work here.

If you guys like it, I can upload the files for your usage when he's complete with the last few Vassari.

Where is a female version of Vasari?? Slutty face version will do.

kthxbi!
there are no female vasari,
they all clone themselves off of one specific male vasari so there is no possible way for a female.
its in the lore

cheers

I don't suppose you could tell me how to do the glowy Advent eyes? I'd like to make my own portraits, but I can't figure out how to do those eyes.

Taken from Celestial Order's forums on his notes:
http://www.celestialorder.net/showthread.php?t=5504

*note 2* if you're wondering, yes that is captain milla jovovich! referenced obviously from pix of ms. jovovich!

*note 3* complete set of TEC! if that last face looks familiar to you ... thats based off yukie nakama. i actually did a different portrait prior to this one. but after looking for a bit and felt that it didnt look so great i talked to fael and she suggested that i do something based on yukie nakama (she's the main girl character, Oboro, in the japanese movie Shinobi. yes she's pretty <-- woot using new emote)

This will make a brilliant mini-mod when completed! The Diplomacy screen will become far less boring.

why didn't you say he's ready :D

As a mod extract them in
"C:\Dokuments and Settings\
A better way to do it:

create a custom mod folder in your mods directory. name it "portraits mod" or something similar.

in that folder, create a folder named "Textures" and drop these .tga files in there.

Now, you can enable/disable the new portraits at will!
Thats pretty much what i said...
But for some reason there is a part missing in the path:
"C:\Dokuments and Settings\"username"\local settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\"yourmod"\Textures"

They are all painted including the backgrounds. He had base photographs to work on for the humans and yeah well he's doing it for fun so of course he puts in hot peeps So it's no photo manip or pasting happening here.It should work online afaik.

These are badass pictures but the backgrounds are definitely from EVE Online without a doubt. I've played it for the last 3 years and I recognize some of the ships as being Minmatar and Caldari.

rilus, lol thats the first thing i ntoiced too, hey is that a minmatar ship... that one looks caldari... lol.

I can bet you it won't, because even the tiniest change in a checksum will cause the game to not allow MP.

For example, two copies of Sins Plus. My version had one extra file - a map portrait/selection thing I'd made as a quick test. That was enough to cause a fairly significant checksum difference and thus not allow MP.

The new portraits will probably cause a change in the file size and thus alteration of the checksum.

And as rilus said, those backgrounds (at least some of them) are from EVE Online. Not that there's anything wrong with that per se, but you just won't fool people who have played EVE when they're staring right at a Minmatar Dreadnaught or a Gallente Destroyer from a piece of promo art or a screenshot. ;)

About the backgrounds, it's not the OP's fault he misunderstood how "original" they were since he stated himself he's not the one making them his friend was. If he never played Eve and his friend told him he did them from scratch he prolly didn't realize his friend meant the portraits themselves not the backgrounds.

Either way, great stuff, it really livens up the game :)

it will work online if you make it a separate custom mod as I described how.
that's because you can give the mods to your friends, and even if the game requires that everybody be running the same mods (I assume it does, since mods can make ships cheaper and faster) , you can have everybody enable it and it should work fine.
