Just wait on that one... I'm on my last game before i get the racial medal. Anyway, what would happen to the people that already have it? I guess they would have to go back and play 2 more games. It would make it more accurate though.

I too would like some descriptions for the other achievments. I mean the list exists, can't the text just be changed to show what they already are for? Its not like making changes to the MV, just the list. I remember a thread a while ago about ideas for some medals that are unused. Like one for winning each victory condition. But that would be 5 for TA and 4 for DA and DL.

Yesterday there was a thread asking how long we thought GalCiv would be popular. Most people said they would be playing for a long time. I think the existance of the MV and the medals will help make that happen. It gives players something else to shoot for besides just playing the game. In a decade or 2 I hope to get my 250 win medal.

@KP: again, let me state, as i've done many a time already. we don't KNOW that the Achievement #6 medallion is for 250 Victories. We have ASSUMED it is. Not all of the Battles Won medals have a corresponding Victories Medallion (75 Battles comes to mind).

At this point, we just want to know WHAT the remaining achievements stand for. If we KNOW that, we will know if they are working or not.

I agree with neilo's reply #18. A lot of the reason I'm still here is because of the Metaverse. The Metaverse and the medal system is an important part of the game for many players. Neglecting it would be a disservice.

Kryo, any word on the 250 medal if it is indeed the next achievement? If not how about letting us know what the achievements are? They would sure help gaining them alot easier.

I tried poking someone about it again today, but he didn't know.

Its been a month since i poked you about this Kryo...any further information on the medals? I'd really love to know how far off i am from the next achievement or if it is working at all.

No, but chances are that the best time to find out will be when the metaverse gets some TA love along with 2.0 (after PM08).

Are you supposed to see medals under every name in this forum? Or are you just talking about when you look at your Metaverse profile?

some people don't have medals under their names for various reasons ie either they've never played a Metaverse game, or if they have, but never selected a character to highlight.

I also knew that during some of the forum updates, that Internet Explorer users were unable to see medals under any user name; I am unsure of if that has been resolved or not.

No that hasn't been fixed, still haven't seen my new Top 25 medal yet

I have left this topic be for some while, and while i think there still will be no answer, i know most stardockians are busy, but i'll ask again.

 

Any word on if all the medals are functioning (even though we cant se them at this point on the forum)? Is there any possability in learning where the achievement medals are at?

Haven't gotten to the point referenced in #35 just yet. The missing in general bit though is just due to some oversight in the last forum update, that much should be back as soon as the GC2 theme gets its tweaks.

Hopefully those tweaks will also elminate the white on near-white quote boxes (which I assume are from cross-posting users b/c I don't see them in my own replies).

Same goes for the backrounds on the emoticons...it needs to be changed to black.

KP, do you use IE? The sneery icon backgrounds look black to me in FF. Couldn't say about Opera b/c it is broken for the site right now (I reported that to Opera as well as in another thread here).

I'm not seeing any medals in IE6, does is work for IE7?  I'll be upgrading to IE7 when I move to XP SP3, but I'm not going to run and do it right away.  It probably won't happen until my "important" softwre (not games) requires it.  I really hate upgrading, it inevitably leads to headaches I'm never in the mood to deal with.

I'm home now using FF, and no medals.  I think Kryo said somewhere recently that it was in the works to be fixed.
