Potential New Player.Questions!!!

Hello everyone
I just read about Sins in GameInformer(GameInformer gave Sins the title of Game of the Month) and I thought I would come, check it out and ask questions.
So here it goes:

1.Is Sins a single or multiplayer game?

2.If it is multiplayer,is the universe persistent?

3.how would you compare Sins with Eve Online?
Just for the record,I am currently an Eve player, member of Tgrads and Bruce

4.what is the "lifetime" of the game?

Thanks

1. Both
2. No, its an RTS not persistent state
3. I wouldn't
4. A game can last from 1 hour to several days. But usually 2 hours.

1. Sins is both a single player and a multiplayer game. Unlike what you may be used to in RTS/4x games, Sins does NOT, however, contain any campaigns. Your only option in SP is to skirmish, with up to 9 AI.

2. N/A

3. You might as well compare my car to a shoe. Sins and Eve have almost nothing in common except that they are games that take place in space.

4. What does that mean?

Hmm
You say skirmish and no campaign, but I thought there was like a storyline.

As far as lifetime of the game,i meant the overall game. I don't want to purchase a game to "finish it" or get bored after 1-2 month

There is no storyline outside of what's in the manual, and the storyline you create for yourself. There is no single player campaign, period.

As for the "lifetime of the game"- that's highly subjective. Some people will get bored of a game in a week that others will continue to play for years. There is no "finishing" the game, since there IS NO CAMPAIGN.

There is a storyline, just no cheesy campaign to wade through. Not a big loss really. And you'll unlikely, particularly if you enjoy strategy, get a tired of the game any time soon. The maps can take hours to play, plus the developers plan to keep supporting the game.

Also, there is demo out now, so you can decide for yourself.

No? It's just a typical game, there's no monthly fee.

Ok,well
I just played the first demo mission.
I have to say that the game is well done and quite complex/difficult.
I don't think it is a game for me,however seeing/playing this demo, makes me want to check out the other games provided by Stardock

STardock doesn't have any mmo's. ;p

You could get gal civ2 though. I think it's cheap now.
