8800 random 1 second freezes

Hey everyone! I just wanted to know if all 8800 owners have this problem? It is a bit annoying. Luckily it doesn't happen much in game mostly in the menu.

I really like this game but so far this and the artifacting while using AA problem are really getting on my nerves :/ Nvidia is to busy "optimizing" Crysis everytime they release a driver and have forgotten about all the other games. Or if it is fro Stardock is there any announcement of fixes?

I don't have any of these problems on any other game and yes my system is running cool. 44c load. I was already told that the artifacting with AA is a known problem so I just wanted to know if the random freezes were also an issue with the game.

Thank you in advance!

You are probably running a 16x.xx driver. I would upgrade to a 17x.xx driver to eliminate this problem. I used to have it all the time (it was worst in UT3 and did happen in Crysis too) and the 17x.xx drivers got rid of the problem and performance increased. You can downgrade to 15x.xx or upgrade to 17x.xx if you want. It's all up to you.

You can find a wealth of performance charts, driver uploads, and tweaks over at http://www.laptopvideo2go.com. They offer both laptop and desktop drivers. Alternatively, consider picking up some Omega drivers. However, I don't think these have made it to the 17x.xx series yet, but I may be wrong.

I've tried various drivers including the 17x.xx. I am currently using the 174.16 with a modden INF. I still get menu freezes and that artifacting when AA is on just won't go away :/

PS: Is this an OpenGL game by any chance? For some reason I always have trouble with OpenGL games.

Could you let me know what your control panel is setup like? That would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
