There has been no change in DL.

Thats a shame, however I noticed that the most recent patch for Dread Lords, and i only have Dread Lords, is 1.5, and that is really a patch for Dark Avatar but in the version history it says Dread Lords weapon F/X are updated to Dark Avatar specs.

Im getting confused with the patching scheme, can someone explain why Dread Lords uses 1.50.135 when it really is a Dark Avatar patch, everywhere i look on the net it says that 1.5 is for dark avatar and that 1.4 was the last dread lords patch. Im prolly just confusing myself.

It's not necessary to be aware of the version numbers since the patches are only available through SDC and it keeps track of that stuff for you. In any case, Dread Lords is up to 1.50.135 and Dark Avatar is up to 1.80g.100. Some fixes originally released in DA have been back-ported to DL. When those are released, you see the minor version number increment. I'm not sure exactly what changes have been back-ported, but I know some of the major fixes have been. For example, DL now has the fix that keeps the game from blowing away the save file when an out-of-memory error occurs.

You're not going to see any new features in DA or DL. What they are now is what they will be. All the new stuff is going into Twilight of the Arnor.

Ganonxp, are you asking about appearance changes, performance changes, or both? AFAIK, Moosetek13 is right about DL being "finished" in terms of look and feel. But CraigHB's also right about some advances made during an expansion pack project being ported back to the base game.

IIRC, the GC2 cycle will wind down with a final "2.0" patch effort. I would not be too surpised to see the devs try to port some performance improvements (esp. memory use changes) to DL and DA, but I would not expect the graphics to actually *look* different.

The package files SDC uses to install and update programs are portable. I have backups of them on my hard drive. Burning them to CD/DVD or using a LAN to transfer them to another computer is not an issue. This is how I update installations on my laptop computer from my desktop computer.

It will take quite a while to download those large files over a 56K modem. If you can get access to a computer on a high speed connection, SDC provides a mechanism to grab the files in download-only mode. Then you can copy them to your personal computer via "sneaker net".
