Wizard1956: Can you stop running ObjectDock for a while to see if the crashes continue.
This morning WBLIND64.dll crashed at least 10 times causing Windows explorer to stop working. For my work I have several explorer windows open on 2 screens. After the WB crash I have to open all windows again and have them to put in place where I need them. This is not funny anymore.
WB is probably an excellent application for Windows XP but unfortunately not for Windows Vista x64. It is a bit pitty then I have a computer with outstanding graphical capabilities.
I already had to abandon DesktopX because it is not working on Vista SP1 and Vista x64 SP1 unless I switch on UAC.
I like a good looking deskstop and I like the Stardock software very much, but is just not stable enough.
Seppchen: What other applications are you running at the time and what version of WB (6, 6.02, or 6.1 beta)?
Also what are you doing in explorer at the time when it crashes?
So on your machine it seems to be linked to having the sidebar running?

Look in the header of this thread for my WB version ! I am copying data from one explorer window to the other (copy and past). Some explorer windows are local other are on a Windows server.
Then the sidebar is always running on my second screen with Everest Ultimate Monitor and two weather channel gadgets.
It seems that WBLIND64.dll once in a while crashes at the same time when I am using Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Premiere. But not always, could be a coincidence because that is the software I use most of the time.
I am using Vista Ultimate x64 so I don't need Deskscapes and I don't run it.
Seppchen: If you are having problems with the beta then you should switch back to the non beta. Betas by their nature may have problems.
We should be putting up a new build today which has a few tweaks. I would be interested in knowing if this helps with any issues.

Neil, that's what I did this evening, back to the latest non-beta version. I unchecked beta versions in Stardock Central just to get rid of the temptation to install the latest stuff.
But with WB 6.02 the system icons (network, bluetooth, sidebar, speaker, mobile device center, etc...) look so bloody ugly and rubbled. For one reason or the other the program icons (in my case Nod32,rainlendar, etc..) look good.
Keep up the good work please.
It is a bit off topic, but I will reply anyway. 40% mem in idle state is a lot. Lightscribe and the other stuff installed by HP should only run when you need it, when you really need it. I have a couple of HP printers and the HP software installs a lot of "pestware" which I don't need. So I uninstalled that. And the service I don't need are disabled or even deleteted. Other services which I need once in while are set to manual.
Now it becomes on topic! I found out that "pestware" installed by Adobe and Corel is definitely delaying or even preventing WB from starting correctly once in a while. These are services like FlexnetLicensing, Bonjour, Adobe updater, etc... I got rid of all that stuff and WB starts like a charm.
Yes Neil,I'm running DeskScapes 1.90[b].023 .

Haven't seen any new build so far.

Neil, I installed WB 6.09e(b)126 and the first thing I noticed is that the icons in the notification bar are not rubbled and ugly anymore. I hope this is not a coincidence.
I will report on the crashing windows explorer this evening (my time).
Ten hours after the install of 6.09e(b)126. The bad news is that the rubbled and ugly icons are back. So it was a coincidence. The good news is that since 07:00 until now 19:00 WB didn't crash with windows explorer stopping working. I hope that this isn't a coincidence either.
Obviously, this thread died a death and that probaly means that we will have to live the the crashing WB on Windows Vista and that we will have to live with the stopping and and restarting Windows Explorer.
Oh, and now, that I went back to the stable version, I can't play games. =] This has happened for GC2(the most), NWN2, Civ4, and Lost Empire. Once I close the program, it will take me to my desktop just fine, and then everything except some icons disappear, and where the task bar was, theres a block box on the right hand corner. So I wait for 5ish min, CTRL+ALT+DEL, and it opens that menu(Vista users know what it is.) From there, ANYTHING I do will make that page lose all text, and it will stay that way. I let it sit like that for the last half of Last Samurai, and it never loaded. Meaning, I can't play games, unless I wanna hard reboot after I'm done playing.
I tried every stable version of WB and I tried every beta version with the slight hope that some problems are cured. They are not ! And it is not only WB crashing on my Vista boxes, also the wrong skinning for system windows is not resolved yet.
Conclusion: WindowBlinds is not compatible with Windows Vista, and certainly not with Vista x64, it still is what it always was, a very nice piece of Windows XP software.
