Well, one problem is the fact that it isn't activated. Have you tried activating it through SDC?

The system information you posted indicates that it is the purchased version and not the trial.

How is that possible?

Huh? "to all over the forums this afternoon/evening"
What does looking at topics have to do with "foul play"?
But, yes. I have been looking all over the forums tonight. Does that make a diffrence?

I dont know about the version weirdness. Should I redownload?

Omnicoder, I suggest you uninstall what you have and reboot.
Then, instal the trial and see if you like it.
If you do like it, purchase it.
If you don't, uninstall the trial and move on.

Ok. I uninstalled. But 1 weird thing happend. I didnt need to reboot like I
did the time I tried it on XP awhile ago. It cleaned the whole folder away. That
a new feature? Not needing to reboot? Or does that indicate that there was a probelm.

You should reboot (to release any files in momory) and then follow the steps above.

If you have had the trial before and it expired and you try to install it again, it will fail again.

It appeared (to me) to be an illegitimate copy.

So was that my fault or a bad download?

Where did you get that build from?

Some random download site, as Stardock's link was bad when I tried(its fine now)
Looking back, using 'Some Random Download site' was probaly the worst thing to try. Download.com for me from now on.  :)
also, does buying OD mean free updates too?
I mainly want it for the DeskScapes and Windowblinds, so I want to be able to get DeskScapes Full once it is out of Beta as well.

ODNT (Object Desktop) is a subscription [OD usually refers to ObjectDock, a very cool product not in ODNT).  So if you have a ODNT subscription you get all the available apps and all updates of those apps for a year.  After the year you can renew or keep the apps at the level you last updated to.

So I should download them all right before my subscription runs out?

It woudl make better sense to renew.  But yes, I would archive the latest through Stardock Central (or Impulse at that point) before my sub ran out.

(I archive regularly anyway)
