Sorry to ask this

If you don't have any autosave games or saved games, Restore civilizations button won't work and the load save game dialog should come up empty. The credits and metaverse buttons should still work, though.

When you open the options menu, to your right will be an option User Defined Playlist. When you set that ON, a Load PlayList button will appear on the Options menu. Click on that. You can either type in a new directory (full path information if it's not a subdirectory of galciv) that is the location of your mp3s or you can save a m3u playlist in the Playlist folder and then select it from the list. If you choose to use a pre-created playlist, make sure to save it directly to the playlist folder so that it will save all the path information and be able to find your files. Windows Media Player playlist are currently unsupported.

The startup window I meant, was the small window you get before actually starting the game.

Only the top Play game, and the bottom Exit, work.

Nope, when I click on the game icon on desktop, I get a small Flash based window.

Has galciv.com, metaverse, galactic encyclopedia, and survival guide buttons, besides those mentioned above.

Only the above work.

I think he means the small initial window (galciv.com, the survival guide, and what not).

Are you online when you try to use them? I'm not sure about the survival guide, but the others all access some part of this website.
