Downloaded GalCIV and now CANT boot up my PC!!!!! Please Frogboy help!!

Hi.. I know this post should probably go under some other thread but I wanted to post it out here because I am having trouble weeding through all the other Posts to find answers..

I have Win98SE

After D/L GalCiv I rebooted my PC and now I get the Message "Invalid System Disk" I don't know a lot about PC's so could you please tell me the exact steps I need to take to correct this problem..

p.s. I have never had a product do this to my PC before! Did starDock have a virus in it or something?????

I had a problem with XP. Somehow I lost the NTLDR, and since, for some reason, XP looked for a Password...I had to reinstall XP and everything else! Use a startup recovery disk, and see what startup files may have ben changed or lost, double check the bios as well.

There was a bug in the SDC beta from Sunday/Monday.

Here is the recovery directions:
Windows 98/ME

http://www.stardock.com/temp/win_98_org_root.zip Windows 98 Original
http://www.stardock.com/temp/win_98_se_root.zip Windows 98 SE
http://www.stardock.com/temp/win_me_root.zip Windows ME

Extract them to a blank floppy or use a zip program to do so.

Reboot with a system disk in the drive. If you need to create a system
disk to boot, visit
http://www.xecu.net/jsjr/Web2/get/MEUBD.exe to download an installer to
create one.

2. Reboot with the system disk in the drive following the onscreen steps
to exit back to a DOS prompt. Note that you may have to change settings
in your BIOS (press Del or F1 when the system is checking RAM) in order
to boot from the floppy drive first.

3. Place the disk with the extracted files back in the drive and "copy
a:\*.* c:\"
Reboot without the floppies and you should be able to restart and boot
back into Windows 9x.

4. We've tested the above solution here, but there's a chance we've
missed something. If that is the case, you can download a full boot disk
for the appropriate platform from
http://www.bootdisk.com/original.htm. Boot off that, exit to a command
prompt (should be in the root of the a: drive), and then type "sys c:"
to update the system back on the drive.

BTW, you may be able to just unzip the contents of the Win98SE zip to your c:\ and be fine.
