Working In a Convent

I have worked at a Convent for retired Catholic Nuns for 5 years now and I continue to be amazed and confused by these women. A little background so please, bear with me..
the average age is 85 though we have 4 Sisters between the ages of 92 - 100. 80% of this population is very self sufficient requiring little to no care. Must be the no men and no children, no worrying about bills, roof over your head, etc. that we poor "average Joes" must endure...lol. I am not Catholic and it is not a requirement for the jobs there. Actually I am agnostic and no, that doesn't mean atheist, just means I do not belong to any form of specific denomination. I believe in God, I believe in Jesus. I don't believe that any one church out of all of the churches that believe in God and Jesus is the only "one" as in "if you aren't Catholic...(or Methodist, Lutheren, etc.) you are going to hell". I don't believe that is the true message of God nor do I believe that you must belong to a specific church to be a christian, that is seen through your actions not which church doors you walk through on Sunday or any other day of the week for that matter. 'Nuff said, now on to the heart of the matter.
Ex-priest, Robert Larson, is up for a parole hearing. He was forced to stop being a priest and was convicted of child molestation and sentenced 7-10 years in prision. He has started his 4th year in prision. He continues to communicate with several of the Sisters at the convent and they post his letters on their main bulletin board and the lamenting goes on for "poor Fr. Larson". I read the letters, grit my teeth and walk on wondering how they can feel this way??? Five young men that were all at one time or another alter boys for Robert Larson (I cannot refer to him as Fr.) went into deep depressions during and after their abuse, subsequently committing suicide which is a mortal sin in the eyes of the Catholic church, thus damning themselves to hell. Never in one letter from Larson nor in any posting by the Sisters is any concern or remorse mentioned for the young men, the true victims of this crime. The last letter and posting was requesting letters to be sent to the chairperson for the parole board in favor of his early release. I am appalled, angry and ashamed that non of these very, very relegious people, some that have been dedicated since they were 14 and 15 years old cannot or will not remember or mourn for the victims. I answered that call to write. Mine was a different message, a message about five lives wiped out and five familes forever changed and grieving.
