Another Beginner, another question

Hello everybody. I've had the game now for a about a week, and Im in my first real game(where I know whats going on).
I'm playing w/ me and 3 comp players. My ally started a war and I saved him but got drawn into the war myself. now the other 2 teams are hammering me while my ally is just sitting at his home planets. Is there any command to tell your ally to come help you?

No. That is the danger of having allies. Try to bribe both AI that are at war with you into peace. You have to bribe both into peace in the same turn though. If you only get 1 the very next turn you will get attacked again by the person you just made peace with.

I never ally with anyone until the end because you end up getting drawn into wars before your ready.
