After seeing what other bloggers have been reading, I've been wondering if anyone else would be interested in forming a JoeU book club/literary circle.

We could all take turns in choosing a book to read...and instead of offering up a single selection, the person who's turn it is could offer a choice of 2 or more books and we could have a vote.  That way we'd maybe bypass issues of people not being able to get their hands on copies of the books etc.

The books wouldn't have to come from the latest releases, we could read classics or books that have been around for a couple of years.

I know I'd like to do it; it would be a good cerebral exercise and I'd love to get someone elses point of view on what I'm reading!

If you're interested, please leave me a response...and I'm open to suggestions on how to enhance the reading exerience!

Oh, and this isn't a strictly girly book club either, so all you dudes that are interested are more than welcome to get involved!

After we start how much time is allotted to read each book? 4 days? a week? 2 or 3 weeks? Are we going to vote on this or have someone just decide on it depending on the book? Is someone going to start a blogsite under their ring to have the "book club" at? Just wondering

I don't know, Sarah.  I was thinking that anyone who's interested could give me their ideas and we'd all decide from there how long, etc.  Everyone would get a turn selecting a book for us all to read, so I suppose it could be up to the individual choosing the book how long we'd get to read it. 

Yes, I think I'm going to start a separate blogsite for the book club...although I'm not sure how to do it, do I'll have to bug either Patrick or Brad and ask them for some guidance. 

I really am so looking forward to this!  I finally will have someone other than my librarian to discuss literature with!

I know, kind of a hodge podge, but I thought I'd submit them anyhow...

My coworker just got done reading both of the Bridget Jones' Diary books. I have seen the first movie, but she was telling me about some incidents in the book that I hadn't seen in the movie and now I want to read them!

Kayles--the books are so much funnier than the movie! You should definately read them. Fiedling also has a new book out (it's got a martini glass on the cover, but I don't remember the title) which is supposedly completely different.

I'll play too. I just finished Firefly by Piers Anthony (just picked that on a whim at the library). So I need something new to read!
