Good question. We were discussing this the other day in the Claw. We are not sure. I am at difficult 9.27 and still have a crippling shield. So, we know you have to greater than this. You can find your difficulty in the AltMeta. I have over 75% masso and it is not enough.

I am actually starting to wonder if the shield and morality are working in the metaverse.

I think that I should have had a blue face and higher shield value by now.

JT, Sorry, I gave you a wrong pointer. The difficulty is in Statbot when you click thru the empire to your name.

I thought that it went on % of games played at each level... Most of my games have been at masso by a lot :(

Yes, but for every game played at beginner level, you have to play something like ten times at maso to cancel it out.

You've played three at easy, three at cakewalk, two at simple, one at beginner... It would take about ninety maso games to recover from that.

Ok thanks... we all have to stert somewhere... some lower than others... LOL like me... LOL

That's actually a good point though. For someone who has finally made thier way up to maso difficulty, they shouldn't be penalized for taking that long because they did make it. Maybe they should make it the average of the last 20, 30, 50 games or so.

Is this just what you have deduced or did you hear this from stardock?

It was a vague estimate.
If you play one difficulty-1 game, you'd have to play nine difficulty-10 games to reach an average difficulty of 9.1 - still not enough for a Maso rating. But most of Qwerk's easy games aren't quite that low in difficulty, so it might be a bit easier than that implies.

Well when I beat a level I increased the hardness to the next level.. till I fwlt confident enough to tackle maso's and the now defunct level suicidal or what ever it was... Now I always play at he hardest level.. I even turn off the minor players so that I can't use them for extra trade / techs etc...

I play ALL my games at the maximum number of major AI's in AP

Thanks all for your input.. I thought that a maso would negate a beginner game in dificulty terms etc.. as they are the same distance away from the normal game... I wish I knew how they work these things out..

Yes, but this allows to get at least a normal shield. For having a maso shield, it needs much more maso games.
