Is this supposed to be installed in the exact same directory as GalCiv or in it's own directory?

It installes in its own directory, but in the same subdirector as GalCiv, usually under Drengin.net, which itself is under Stardock, so the path for each is
Stardock/Drengin.net/AlterianProphecy and
Stardock/Drengin.net/GalCiv

Actually no this is not correct if you have the Totalgaming.net especially and if you place your games in another folder.

It always installs in the program file in a folder called stardock. I have not been able to install it any place else even when I select to install it in my games folder.

Just to cover all the bases if you also place games in another folder besides program files as I do.
