No Warning Sticker

I'm a little preturbed with this game right now. >:(

When I puchased it, there was NO warning sticker.. no yellow and black caution tape.. nothing to alert me to the fact of what a TIMESINK this game is! Someone yesterday at work wondered if I was doing well, what with the black circles under my eyes. :p

Very addicting game. Any piddling issues aside, it is an engrossing, fun and time consuming experience.. thank you! I think. LOL

Hmm... Strange that MoO3 comes with a built-in alarm, and GalCiv needs one. Maybe that should be in the next major update?

I have been trying to avoid anything that compares the two games, but I agree that a built-in alarm would be nice.

A built in alarm is useless, just look at a clock in the room between turns.

heh, the Moo3 alarm can't distinguish between a.m and p.m., which kinda defeats the purpose. if yer gonna copy features from that game please don't copy the bugs.

to make it more in GalCiv style I'd prefer a humourous random event (optional) that comes up once in while (say after 5 hours of non stop playing).

something like "Suddenly, you don' feel like ruling the empire anymore. You feel sleepy, very sleepy.", or something goofy like that

heh.. that would be funny. But I agree, it *would* be useful. Why? Because you get so engrossed in the game, you don't even think to look away. Last night is a good example. Laundry nite for me. So I have a load in the dryer.. one is moldering still wet in a basket. I start into my war party game. 2 and a half hours later.. I snap out of my trance, and it is 12:30 in the morning, my laundry is getting wrinkled in the dryer, and the wet clothes are sprouting mushrooms by now. So yea.. you do lose track of time playing. LOL

OldOrion, maybe the alarm clock comes up as an event, since most of the time the turns are relativly quick.

I'm amazed that an off-hand suggestion got so much support. Should putting alarm clocks in TBS games be required? I'd say yes, because I seem to get addicted too.

Just run MOO3 on a seperate computer in order to utilize the alarm. I knew MOO3 had a use! LOL

Yes put an alarm clock in. Have me be able to set a specific time, or a set number of hours and minutes. And make it blair some music at me like those dang Drengin and make the screen do funny things or something. Not just a little popup that I'll just close and keep playing.

I also think an alarm clock triggering an event [at a certain time/after a certain number of hours] would be great.

Mind you, on weekends I start playing in the early morning, and only stop when my cats come in complaining about food - usually early in the morning...

Last night I alt-tabbed to the desktop to find out the windows clock said it was 4:00 AM. A fact is a fact so I said to myself: just a couple of more turns and I really go to sleep. Which I did at 06:00 AM :D

SlapBone, running MoO3 on another computer wouldn't help. You'd hate hearing two different soundtracks playing, so you'd turn off the sound on MoO3. Now, since the only way the alarm would do is job is if you glance at the MoO3 screen, but since you're so engrossed in GalCiv you won't even notice. ;p
