Need Help

from Stardock Forums
I just posted this, but I guess it didn't get through..Anyway, here's my question again. I can't seem to make any alliances or peace treaties with any of the major civilizations. The only treaty options I see are the attack treaties. Am I missing something, or doing something wrong? Thanks for the help.

Nah, it got through (at least, I can still see it through SDC). It's just a ways down the page now. Here's my answer again:

"Peace Treaty: only available/required if you are already at war with that race.

Alliance: requires that both you and that race have researched the Alliance tech, and requires that the relationship between your races be "Close" -- until those conditions are met, the Alliance option won't appear on the negotiating screen. Even then, it may take some negotiating skill/bribery to convince the AI to ally with you.

Frogboy, if you read this, could please post/sticky something titled "How to Form an Alliance"? I've answered this question 3 times in 24 hours now."
