Fleets not moving

I'm unable to get my fleets to move in DA (I've updated to the latest version, 1.80g) - what happens is as soon as I try and send a fleet anywhere further than it can move in 1 turn, it's speed drops to 0, and it refuses to move (unless I then click somewhere it can move to in 1 turn). I've experienced this in the campaign part of the game, in both the first mission, and the second mission so far, and it's driving me mad - is there any way I can avoid this problem?

Just checked after reading the responses to the sticky+seems although stardock says I've got 1.8g I'm actually running 1.8e, but after refreshing my XML data in stardock as suggested+trying to get the latest update, I'm still unable to update, while I can't find the folder SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar to change my version as mentioned in one of the responses to that sticky.

It's not a folder, it's in your registry.

This will do it for you. Feel free to run it through however many virus scanners you feel is necessary, or even open it up in Notepad (via Open With); it's clean.

Just make sure SDC is closed when you do it. Then open SDC back up and update. You may also want to ensure you're using the US-1 server.

If you have 1.8g and then update to the latest GalCiv2 update, you will now be back to having the movement bug. I am going to make the registry change and attempt to get 1.8g to overwrite whatever the latest GalCiv2 update did to bring this bug back. --- I made the registry change to say that the current version was 1.8e, downloaded 1.8g, and then things were back to normal: just in case anyone comes across the same scenario I did...
