Player Diplomacy Quests

AAAAGH!

I can`t find the 1.03 Suggestion thread!

And I`m too lazy to Search!

Anyway, I thought perhaps some type of 'quest requesting' on the part of the player to the A.I.s might be interesting. A.I.s are always making demands of you, I thought it might be nice to have them react to demands made of them; turn about being fair play. You ask for a service (i.e. Destroy 'X' ships of 'Y' faction within 'Z' minutes) and name/produce your reward.

I`m not quite sure how this would impact their friendliness to your Empire, but maybe its something to think about.

Just a comment about the Diplomacy model in the game now, as regards to A.I. .

The diplomacy with computer players is set up to only go one way - once a computer player reaches "Allied state" there is nothing that can pull him/her/it out of it.

A simple potential lever to add would be to give the human player the ability to request that one computer player attack another player, when that other player`s forces are present in the same planetary system as the computer player. My thinking would be to have a scaled percentage chance of such a request being agreed to, based upon force strengths, proportions of planets controlled, the history of violence between the factions (i.e. find yourself attacking Player X 90% of the time and you engender a small measure of hatred that gets recalled in circumstances like these), current gifts of resources & credits, and requester force strength (one imagines some type of cooperative table-turning betrayal...).

There has to be some diplomacy going on that A. does not necessarily revolve around the human player, and B. has the capability to shake things up.

You can already ask another player to attack or defend a planet by selecting that players ships/planet and you get these two icons in the lower right of the screen.
