A Thought

I was pondering ideas on increasing population limits on fleets and I wonder if I may have been mistaken to endorse such a change. Isn`t a finite fleet deployment something that makes a larger scenario more interesting? Something that would add greater wholly reasonable importance to the Population Cap research tree?

I`m not sure.

A game setup option perhaps?

I think that larger maps give one an *inclination* to use larger fleets, but if this reality is mirrored by all opponents I think things as they are now, with current limits, is good.

Increase fleet caps and eventually somebody will come up with a map that is even larger, bidding the requests for even higher fleet caps.

Its simply the natural rts urge to pack as many units into as small a space as possible.

If we can`t field 2 mammoth fleets and cover the entire universe, we`ll have to make strategic decisions and field smaller fleets according to our objectives, just like our opponents must.
