capturing asteroids

how do i do this?

I am very confused as to how I capture an asteroid in a system with no planet.
I encountered a system today with only 2 mining asteroids,both of which already had an extractor built, but it was a neutral extractor and it said it can be captured. how do I capture it though.

do i need a certain ship ,or research?

The TEC and Advent colony ships have an ability to capture them, and the Vasari use their scout - no research needed

They can't be destroyed, only captured.
