Help - Installing SysStats onto a Vista computer

Hi there everyone im new to this so plz be nice hehe Basically im having trouble installing sysstats into objectbar ive been through loads of threads trying to not bother anyone but for the hell of me it wont work, i understand that i unzip it into program files/stardock/objectdock and then acording to everything i read that should be it.... this is where my problem starts.... winzip or winrar wont let me extract the files straight into my programs folder, it just says a message saying that it cannot create folders. has anyone else had this problem????? or am i been THICK :-) ive tryed to unzip into my downloads folder and then copy/cut the files and paste into objectdock folder but after i do that it just crashes my objectbar when i try to use it. Im running vista home premium, and im guessing that its this thats messing with me cos i carnt think of a time when i cum across this in XP. Hope sum1 out there can help me, i would appreciate it. BTW i love the forums here, some great work gets posted.

Support does not supply support for systats I'm afraid or we would try to be of more help. In most cases the stand alone stuff works out of the docklets menu. If that docklet isn't up to date with the current version of ODP then you might have issues. I have not heard of the win.zip or rar issue unless you have a corupted download. I would try downloading it again to see what might happen.

sarkar-- I had a problem that sounds like what you describe.

Yes, get the files into your folder like you did, to start.

Make sure OD is not running. Now, start OD AS ADMIN (right click shortcut, start as admin). Now configure your sysstats and get it working.

In my case after that I could go back and run OD as a normal (non-admin) user, and everything kept working fine. I can even configure new sysstats widgets this way. So it seems the crash was some kind of permission issue that needed to happen only once.
