Need system tray advice

I have been a long-time user of the free version of ObjectDock...but I recently built a new PC so I downloaded and installed the latest version of the free version...and am having issues.

I use OD to replace my entire task bar...and was happy to see that OD now includes some of the more useful third-party docklets, like a start menu, weather, show desktop, etc...as well as a fairly decent starter icon set for popular apps. That said, I see no way to add a third-party docklet to the free version. Specifically, I want to install the systray on which I have relied for years. After I saw the limitation on the free version, I bit the bullet and bought Plus since it states that it has systray support...and because I hoped it would allow me to add other docklets.

Well, I have tried using the systray implementation in OD Plus and was quite disappointed to see that it was not the well-known docklet, but is instead is an implementation that just seems to suck @ss. Yes, that is the most helpful critique I can come up with at the moment. ;-)

I also am disappointed to see that there is no way to add a third-party docklet in the Plus version...or at least no way that I can glean. I really miss my 3x3 grid of sys tray icons. Displaying them all full size on my main dock is not an attractive option for me, nor is creating a whole new dock or tab for them. What are you folks doing?

TIA.

cheers,
Steve

You can change the icon in the OD Plus systray by, left click and hold, or Ctrl + left click.

To add a docklet, you simply extract the contents of the zip to Docklet folder. I've had the systray docklet working with Plus (didn't care for it, but it worked)

What doesn't the systray do that you want it to?

I use systray with OD+ -works great.I also found the implementation of systray really ugly. And you can only use it by loosing "show all windows"

Would be nice stardock could do something here (:-))
