WindowBlinds 6.02 released

Maintenance release improves performance, adds MyColors support

Stardock has released WindowBlinds 6.02. WindowBlinds is a program that allows users to change the look and feel of Windows XP and Windows Vista by applying a new visual style. Users can download thousands of free visual styles from websites such as WinCustomize.com, deviantART, SkinBase, Customize.org, and more.

Thanks to years of optimization, WindowBlinds not only won't slow down your computer, it is faster than Windows XP or Windows Vista is by default thanks to making use of video acceleration features in ATI, nVidia, and Intel-based video adapters.  Moreover, WindowBlinds makes heavy use of resource sharing and as a result typically uses less memory than when using the default Windows XP or Windows Vista visual styles.

WindowBlinds 6.02 is a maintenance release designed fix some reported bugs, improve skin changing speed, and add support for MyColors themes.

WindowBlinds is a free download at http://www.windowblinds.net. Users can purchase an enhanced registered version which adds additional functionality for $19.95 (or get it as part of Object Desktop which adds several additional programs and costs $49.95).

Open up your Stardock Central....click onto to "tools".....click onto "settings"......click onto "internet" and then click onto "refresh application XML data". See if that works for you. It worked for me.

Yeah, that is Elegance. I was looking at the min/max/close buttons and completely overlooked the start menu. Went into WB and started looking around when it dawned on me that...I WAS WRONG!!!  :SURPRISED:  :SNIFF!:  :SNIFF!: :SNIFF!:

I have a several problems, window frame top on some windows is transparent and some widgets load at first but a few minutes later go away..Widgets ran as widgets not imported as widgets...They seem to be alright when imported as widgets but not when ran as a widget..Didn't use to do that....

I have tried to update several times but keep getting a installation failed message?? This is a new one :NOTSURE:

I'm getting the same as Wet Monkey. Code: 29 Installation failed. Losing it at 50%. Using SDC and I am a registered OD user. Can anyone point us in the right direction?

If you get an "error 29" something about "activate.exe". If so turn off your UAC reboot then run SDC. Let WB update, turn on the UAC and reboot.

ControlPanel>Users Accounts: Turn User Account Control On or Off

I wrote this in another thead. Only with Vista.

Its time they try to fix the installation / update routine. Everytime I update (no matter to a beta / release build) I need to uninstall and reinstall completely. The update function doesnt seem to work.

Vista x64 UAC on.

Sounds like a Stardock Central issue.  Make sure you have build 164. (help->about).

Not to rant but Microsoft doesn't make this stuff easy between their constant security tweaking in Vista (even between service pack betas).

Hello,
I'm confused by this. I was caught with the "error 29" problem as well and saw that I had Stardock Central build 163 installed. Restarting it did not tell me there was a build 164 available. I had to go and re-download the package from the Stardock website. Once that installed it said there was an update and it updated to build 164. Would there have been another way to ask Stardock Central to update itself? On a side note, build 164 allows the install of Windowblinds 6.02.024 :)
Thank you.
