Choppy Audio

I just purchased GalCiv II and installed it on my brand new HP Pavilion DV9618CA laptop.

It more than meets the suggested requirements:
- AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-58 1.9 GHz
- 2GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M

when i play the game, the audio is very choppy. I've installed all the updates for GalCiv, but the choppiness still persists.

Any advice?

Vista uses a new model for audio drivers and as a result the quality on some chipsets has suffered. So the likely (if any) solution is to check HP's or the sound chipset maker's websites for updated drivers.
