Eyes of Universe Bug

One of my strategies involves grabbing the sensor techs all in 1 research rush, and then buying an Eyes of the Universe, so I don't have to put sensors on my ships. With 4.0 yesterday, I did this, and then was going through my ships clicking on them (you have to do this in order to get the expanded sensor range immediately) I had a couple fleets formed, but when I clicked on them, the sensor range didn't change. In order to get the expanded sensor range, I had to disband the fleets and then reform them. Saving and reloading, or simply hitting the turn button gives the fleets full sensor range, but it's better if it worked properly (it used to) to be able to react to anything newly revealed.

Also, I had a few occurances of 'sensor ghosts'. An example of what I mean by that is: I have a ship I call Interceptor. Quick fighter with 1 small weapon. I bought the Eyes, and clicked on the ship. The sensor range expanded to 15. I advanced the turn, and the fighter went on it's merry way. However, at the spot the ship was when I bought the Eyes there remains an area clear of the fog, even though no ship remains near there.

I've had these happen - also, I've had planets sit at their old sensor range, and not gain the Eyes of the Universe advantage. In general, the 15 sensor range is not updating properly.

I totally forgot about this thanks to the weird colony ship replacement I experienced.

I've seen these phenomenon as well.

I hadn't associated it with the Eyes on the Universe tech, but I have seen these sensor ghosts. I don't typically go for the Eyes on the Universe, so I know the bug goes beyond it. I don't mind the other issue mentioned. As long as the bonus shows up the next turn I'm good. I wouldn't go to the trouble of clicking all my ships for a sneak peak anyway....but that's me.

I can confirm occasional sensor oddities as well.

Two examples:
- a ship is destroyed (and it really is), but a "sensor ghost" remains
- planets having large sensor ranges or not (both with ships in orbit or not)

Usually these issues disappear after some turns or save&reload, but they're weird nonetheless.

I usually do this early enough that I only have 10-15 ships in the first place, with most of them being colony ships. I do it cause you never know when a nice level 26 planet is lurking just out of sensor range, as you are going to colonize that level 11 over there.

Oh, I did at least save a screenshot:

In this case, I did not have eyes of the universe. This was from my attempt to get the Drengin to invade to reproduce the crash bug, so I was a bit distracted from hitting turn over and over again.

I filled a cargo hull with sensors and engines, just to see if the Drengin had transports loitering near their planets (they did), but the Drengin chased it around and killed it.

The same is true of planets. I had this happen with a planet which was awarded me by the UP, and I eventually lost. I still had phantom sensors active there for the rest of the game.
