Dock Images

Hi there,

Im new to ObjectDock and am using it on my work PC.
I use several applications which do not have images for the dock, so I decided to make my own!
Im using PSP7 since thats all I have at work, but Im struggeling to make my images appear in objectdock with a transparent background? They look fine in PSP, but when I dave them to .png, they all have a white background (which looks rubbish tbh).

Anyone who can offer any help gets a free Malteaser........  ;)

Cheers,

The background needs to be transparent.

What Chasbo said. :)

When you open a new image in PSP you need to select background as transparent.  :)

Been a long time since I've used version 7, but I'll try to steer you in the right direction. These instructions won't be exact, because I'm going by the settings in version 10.

Go to File > Preferences > File Format Preferences > PNG > Load and save transparency to / from layer transparency > OK

Thanks for the response, unfortunately there is no option to change PNG's in file preferences (that I can find anyway!!)
I am starting each file with a transparent background, and they appear to have one when I save them, and even when I re-open them, it just seems to show as a white background on the desktop is all :(

Hey ho, I'll keep fiddeling around and see what I can sort out.

Thanks again,

Found an old evaluation copy of PSP7. You're right, there is no setting for png like there is in later versions. Sorry 'bout that.

Here's the solution....

Save As... > Options.. (at the bottom of the Save As dialog) > Run Optomizer > Transparency tab > tick the Alpha channel transparency setting > OK.

This setting should stick on all png's until you change it, but if it doesn't, just go to file > Export > PNG Optomizer to save your PNG's.
