So did anyone get any cool tech gifts this year?

Standard fair (fare?) at our house this year. My son wanted a Wii, but I [i][b]refused[\b][\i] to pay more than retail for the thing, even though I want it just as much as he does. $600 or more for one?!? Come on!!! X-( I'll just wait for my tax refund and get it for him in February or March. So anyway, what about you? Did you get that cool tech item that you wanted? Just wondering. Have a good one!

Eyeclops!!

All my girls (4, 8. 18) are so caught up with this.  We've been making lists of things to magnify.  Toenails, scabs, adn eyes at 200X are all pretty gross!

I got a remote control that connects to my pc via USB, and can control all the CRUD i have connected to the new 37" LCD TV (I got 3 mo ago).

A couple XBox360 games (Orangebox and BioShock, both will take a while to play). And a cool Electric razor that might help me keep my head shinny!

Hope everyone got what they wanted, or at least didnt get any Coal.. I do know where to get a LOT of coal if needed.

Next up is air-con....temps around here will be getting into the high 30's to low 40's Celsius in the next few weeks... and I prefer 15 - 20 C. :)

Most of the stuff in the picture are toys I got this year. There are 4 more speakers at the back (7.1). Those IKEA cabinets will go this Saturday in favor of a large entertainment center.

@BoXXi, that bike is the most important gadget in the picture :). My son will be upset someday that it is not fully captured.

Very nice james, knew it had to be bigger than 50". Now which WB looks best on it?  ;)
Thanks Philly. I really would like to see WB and Dreams in action on that TV. Haven't tried connecting the PC to it yet. I am waiting for the entertainment center to be setup this weekend so that I can bring the PC and may be servers to the living room. I also need to install Vista Ultimate to get the Dreams going. That may take more time. Have an old laptop with a max resolution of 1280x1024 in that cabinet but hasn't not switched on in a long time.

A friend of mine bought an N95 from Amazon a while ago. He wasn't happy. He let me use it for week. I liked the 5MP camera and the music player but the rest of the stuff including wireless networking and browsing had serious issues. He returned it and settled for iPhone.

I got a used 300GB Maxtor external HD.Which stopped being recognized by XP as soon as I had transferred my entire music collection to it. :SURPRISED:
After doing some googling, turns out I'm just one of thousands with the exact same problem.Damn you Maxtor! X-(

Adventurous pc repairman that I am,I tore it apart and removed the drive from it housing.Split the connector so I could hook half to the MB and the other too the power supply of its original case...hang the whole thing sloppily out the side and voila!...there were my songs!Plus its a serial ata.Now there are 4 HD's in my cheesy Emachines PC(well, mostly in  ;) )
