Drag & Drop Failure on Primary Machine

I seem to have come across an error which I don't know how to resolve. It would appear that intermitantly my primary machine looses the ability to perform any drag and drop, this normally seems to coincide with me waking the secondary machine from running its screen saver.

Has anyone else come across this? I hate having to restart my machine to fix the problem.

What happens if you press escape, or each of the control and alt keys?

Yes that does seem to have solved the problem, pressing esc worked a treat.
