more help plz

okay i started over completely just so i could get the bloody buttons to work and before i even added any of my own buttons for the "windows" portion it only shows me three subimages: normal, pressed, and disabled/mouseover. but when i load a complete skin like the "ares by mike bryant" it shows 6 subimages: normal, pressed, and disabled/mouseover,  normal inactive, pressed inactive and also diabled/mouseover inactive.

So basically how do i tell my skin that there are 6 different images? (3 for active and 3 for inactive)

its not 6 images, its one image, six states..

all u have to do is insert the corresponing amount in the states box in SKS for that element.

Its usually defaulted to the correct amount anyway.

In UIS1 (bitmap frames) there are no inactive states just normal, hot, pressed.

Perpixel frames have 6 states for their buttons.

first of all, take a deep breath kingyo, and slow down. wb's are not easy to make! and you have to take your time to understand each component.

Listen to Vstyler, cause he knows what hes talking about. hes a master. Why dont you download a few skins and open them up and have a look at the button images different people have used on their wb's. I mean actaully open up the skin in an art progam and look at the size, numbers of buttons in one frame ect, and notice the states, where they are situated ect.

Sometimes disecting someone elses skin is the way to go ;)  Once you have worked it out, you will be laughing........ and yes we are here to help also when you get stuck  :)

normal uis buttons are pretty simple, its the perpixel ones that are a pretty different.
