Turn Disappears?

Hi, just bought this game and I'm having a bit of a problem with it. Whenever I press the turn button on the 1st of March 2230 the turn button just disappears, i can move around and select things, adjust domestic bars and build ships; but the turn button is literally gone. I have saved the game and come back to it, but upon ending my turn again the same thing happens. This has occured in three separate games thus far and is becoming extremely annoying.
I am playing on an Acer Notebook:
1.7 ghz AMD Dual Core proc
1 GB RAM
easily enough hd space
this is Gal Civ II Gold Edition with DA
fully patched/updated on stardock

Odd that three different starts would hang up on the same date. Try loading one of the games, then when it hangs up click on "next" to select a ship with movement points, then hit the space bar to waste any remaining points. Repeat a few times just to make sure. If the problem is a ship or two getting confused, this generally clears it up. If this doesn't work, here's a copy/paste of the bug reporting procedure:

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on your game version:

Dread Lords, all versions:
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2

Dark Avatar 1.5-1.6 (non-Vista):
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar

Dark Avatar 1.6+(Windows Vista), 1.7+(non-Vista):

Twilight of the Arnor:
My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.
