So lost...need help

Hey all,

I am really new to all of this. I downloaded Objectdock and have just been playing with it to figure out how to use it. I have all my icons that I want on it and have edited the link in the entry properties to where they are suppose to go but I cant seem to get half of them to open. Also are they suppose to only open when I right click on them and go to open? Is there anyway to just double click?

Please help!

Thanks.

you should only have to click the icons on your dock once, make sure that the path is also correct. good luck

J.....I can only think that you have put the wrong paths in when you edited them

I'd suggest just dragging the shortcut icons from your desktop onto the dock, they should work then. Or right click on them > properties and copy the shortcut.

My Docs and My Pictures you can just copy the path from Explorer after you've opened the folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Pictures\).

My Computer is a little different, mine is showing as: shell:drivefolder

J......This is really odd. Something must be really amiss on your computer. Uninstall OD and reinstall, as you suggest. Then do as Bebi suggests - just drag the Desktop icons into the dock and they should be displayed there. Then to change the icon in the dock, just right click it and go down to the bottom and chose 'Dock Entry Properties' and leave everything alone apart from the change image box - click this box and then search for the icon you want to display and that should be it.........Good Luck but do come back if you have any other probs

my computer, my documents, and my pictures
End of quote

the drop down and pick My Computer works for me
the drop down and pick My Documents works for me
the drop down and pick My Pictures works for me

at one time a long time ago some of the drop downs didn't

or if I wanted a folder not in the list

I put a pic in the folder and browse to it (using the browse window drop down to change to all files:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\trollerized\PoSmelly\NeedsThumping\0201.txt

then edit the path back a bit:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\trollerized\PoSmelly\NeedsThumping
