How I envisioned the Vasari

How I envisioned the Vasari

Because I haven't seen anyone say this yet.

Hey Devs and Beta testers;
Considering the storyline of the Vasari, they seem a little too...at home in my opinion. They have the same ship classes as TEC, they colonize, and they play (basically) the same- with minor differences. A far cry from what I envisioned when I read their story:

Instead of colonizing planets, the Vasari would enter a sector of the galaxy and have a massive colony ship act as their home planet slot. They would be able to produce ships that spread through the system and begin to enslave/decimate planets ...sucking their resources dry and bringing it back to their home ship for processing. (either through a "quick and dirty" method- the planet sucker power on one of their ships- or through a slow process via orbital harvesters; the first giving little resources very quickly, and the second giving massive resources over a long period)

Personally I think that this idea (or something similar) would give a lot of character to the race, and separate it from the other two races

I'm not seriously saying that the Dev's should (or could at this point) implement any of this, I just wanted state my opinion that the (very well written!) story wasn't very well taken into account when the vision took shape, and it makes me kind of sad.

BDU you're interpreting it incorrectly, I jumped on him not because he said the game sucked, but because he accused me of being far too defensive to be objective, when I simply didnt agree with him.

The Vasari imho should not even have credits. They enslave worlds. Instead of credits, they should be about the metal and crystal with upgrades to the "colonized" world giving bonuses to metal and crystal output at mines in orbit. The remnant or exodus fleet that arrived in trader space is focusing on draining as much from their staging areas as possible to create a beach-head against whatever is pursuing them. Please eliminate the credits from Vasari completely and focus them on metal/crystal bonuses from their slave population. None of their ships should require credits, not even capitals -just higher metal/crystal requirements for all ships.

-side note, why is there no population pool? Each ship for each race has crew requirements, but even holding a couple of planets each is able to spam out a massive number of ships that require trained crew. Consider improving resources so the game isn't just about credits, metal, crystal -feels really simplistic in a Star Trek Armada II way. Put some depth into the game.
