I recently went to a preserve near my home this week. Not just any Preserve, but one that hads been reclaimed from a former Towm of Hempstead Garbage dump!!!!! I was Quite amazed at what they had done. It has been capped and planted, and it seems nature has reclaimed her own. I hope, as we proceed into the future, that we will see more of this type of thing happining, the reclaiming of former waste sites into parks and Nature Preserves. The power of nature to heal herself is enormous. But we also have to help her along. By the way if you want to see some photos of this place, send me your e-mail and I will share them with you.
