Collections....

Collections....

What do you?

Over time, people get all sorts of manic interests...that manifest themselves as 'collections'.

Snowman, for eg has 'every' skin ever made....for any proggy.....

My interests are diverse....so there's more than one thing I like to collect.

It gets a bit crowded when you have 16+ bicycles........I'm attempting to rationalize that.... so currently, including frames there are....er.... 21.

When I was five I got into Meccano ....so 48 years later I still have that No. 3 set ....plus the equivalent of beyond a '10'..... 7 or 8 boxes of the stuff.

Motor Racing Officiating....over 30 years..... I try to limit myself just to caps for the World Superbikes [they're particularly well embroidered....FIM badges, etc..... I end up with 4 or 5 others each year....so the F1 and Moto are passed on to other 'fans'.... but then there's service badges...pins....programs....posters....tabbards....and pieces of car/bike.....

When I was 10 it was Magnus the Robot Fighter [comic - Gold Key] .....I wish I'd kept them all back then.....they're worth money now....but I have 'most'.

When I was 5 - 6 I had all 72 [I think] Matchbox cars...as on the typical display case .... and I sure wish I'd kept those.... could just about retire now...

Anyway.....what monopolizes your collective juices?

Jafo rephrases that....

What do you collect?

OH Maaann!! just tragic..

Yeah, and when my grandmother told him how valuable some of them were, he took a pair of scissors to the whole damned thing to try cut them off. The stamp shop owner told him what I already knew, that they were totally & utterly worthless.

No use crying over split milk now...should have known better at the time not to have given the collection to someone who had little or no appreciation of such things...and being that he used to paint model aircraft and ships with pinks, purples and reds, etc, I should have known he was sixpence short of a shilling.

Man, I used to have every edition of Mad Magazine from the 50's to the 70's, went away in the Navy and my old man threw them all out!! Also had the old Horror comics like Creepy and a ton of old superman comics, when they cost a dime! Still have several of my Matchbox Models of Yesteryear, though. Now-a-days I collect old and new lead toy soldiers. I also collect rare coins.

Snow....can you dump them to DVD and pass them on...to someone else...as a backup archive....just in case something 'clever' happens to your machine...like you install Windows on it and it takes exception GPF-ly....

Hehe don't worry Jafo. They are stored on an external HD.
And yes, I do back them up on DVD's. Actually. I think it's time for a new round of backup'ing
