Problem installing skins with WinCustomize browser

Hi All,
I'm having trouble installing skins with Wincustomize browser (2.00.021) into WB6. I use the WC Browser to view skins and can download them OK, but I run into a problem when I try Installing them. The WC Browser installs the skins into:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds

When I run WB6 to apply the skin I just downloaded and installed it's not there. It appears that WB6 is looking elsewhere for the skins:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds

There doesn't seem to be a way in WB6 to change where it looks for installed skins and I see no setting in WC Browser to change where it installs a skin.

Note: If after downloading a skin using WC Browser I double-click on it the skin gets installed in the correct directory and WB6 is able to see it. However, I would much rather use the WC Browser to view, download and install.

Also, I had been successfully using the WC Browswer to download and install skins for WB5.5. My problems started after updating to WB6.

Below is my WB6 System info. My computer is running XP Pro SP2. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What happens if you change the download location to the WB6 Standard?
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds

then you would have to change it again before downloading skins for other apps that would still install correctly from the default location

Zubaz,
I did try your suggestion, WC still installed the skin to:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds

using 2.00c(b).003

Default download location

Uncle Rob's Wolverine (nice skin by the way)

once downloaded:
- click install - says done, not in WB's list
- click apply - got 'classic'
- opened configure, used the 'skin options' drop down to 'install visual style from disk' browsed to the drop off point, installed, refreshed list, bingo, applied

WB6 changed the skin location to be compatible with Vista's requirements

WCB hasn't been updated in a long while

I have the same issue when using the Theme manager:

I load a suite, works ok, looks like it should etc.

I then open windowBlinds (using the right click 'setting' option) to lets say adjust the transparency setting, and well, it's not there on the list. Yet the theme manager lead me there.

If I just go ahead and adjust the transparency setting (and nothing else) anyway, windowBlinds suddenly quits and the desktop is returned to the usual.

I don't know how to have WindowsBlinds recognize the current style that's installed with the theme manager. Is there a way to do this? Or is this something that needs to be addressed by a programmer?

Thanks for any help.

Tecktron have you tried the rebuild list function under skins options in WB config?

Bruce1453 I use WC Browser with WB6 also with no problems. Once you click on a skin and select it should take you to your download screen. At the bottom of the page you can see the download progress. When it shows you that you the download finished look at the upper right had side of the screen and you will see some options, select install and you should be able to see it in WB. You may have to hit skins options and rebuild list also.

Hope this is of some help. Come back and post a reply.

May tell you that my WC browser not only doesn't allow me to do anything. It doesn't perceive my e-mail address and password and writes that my WC Subscription has expired...

Ha-Ha-Ha!

I just don't use it.

Vad_M, sounds like something that support should hear about. I would imagine they should be able to fix that.

No any problems for me. I just search the skins in the WC Galleries and download them through my default web browser.

The other things I do in Stardock Central.
