Alas Koenig, SupComFan appears to be a standard 'leetkid', without a shred of patience, common sense, or the ability to take tactful advice with regards to the prior two flaws.

dude........lol.....i'm just 14.......what do you expect.....i suppose if you were to respond to this post you'd say ....."of course teens don't ever have patiance" i've heard it alot of times from my dad.....i dont need to hear it from some guy named ron lugge.

Enders Game is one of the best books out there, but I also read the Wheel of Time Series, Sword of Truth series... Pretty much anything by Elizabeth Moon, David Weber, John Ringo (given your age, about half of his books are off-limits for ya) and a half dozen other authors whose names escape me at the moment.

Thats the fun of it... however stubbron he thinks he is, he cannot possibly be any worse than me at "getting the last word". If we go to page 100001, I'll be here still swinging

Thats probably part of what makes me so good at TBS games

So, since you're 14, you think you can act as immature as you want?
Most people I know were alot more mature than you were in 5th grade, when we were 11/12 years old. Grow up, and proof-read your posts and fix spelling mistakes. You have as much time as you want before posting, this isn't messenger.

Well, while there is the chance of messing a computer up, she's being rather silly: the risk is minimal in a game this close to completion.

He read too much xanth and gets sex on the brain whenever he sees them.

Also, sorry Ron, you're normal. I was reading biographies of boring dead people at his age.

supcomfan meet Google. Google meet supcomfan.

Sigh. At least try to feign a little initiative.

Well, if I wanted to, I could probably teach the pacific theater theater of WWII at Annapolis from about 5 different perspectives, and that probably means I'm not normal. I'll post screenshots in a few weeks, once I get my good computer running (Or more than about 10 contiguous minutes to myself (thrice accursed Intel paper (With all these nested parentheses, this is starting to look like lisp))). Of course, the fact that, even though I'm seventeen, my punctuation, grammar and vocabulary are immaculate does not seem to be a distinguishing feature in this forum, which other than the entertaining oddballs, is probably the reason I'm spending the aforementioned minutes on this page. I can't wait until I have time to read again... (see, supcomfan, this is how ellipses are used. You use three in a row to indicate a prolonged final word in the sentence, in this case a sigh, and you don't add another ellipsis to the group unless you mean the period, since technically it is a period. Also, use them sparingly since it is a technique best used for emphasis. And if you don't know what ellipses are, they're the three periods in a row.)

Damn, I just wrote an essay, didn't I? Oops... (And supcomfan, just chill on the replies, and I'll post you a few extra nice screenshots once I get the time and access to a computer with a graphics card) Well, back to schoolwork. If anybody knows how to use an SVM, I'd appreciate being able to ask a few questions about the calculus I see in my textbook, since I've just started calculus. Thanks. Forgive my sesquipedalian (it's an ironic word that describes a proclivity for long words that is itself too long for spell checks to include) and verbose leanings.

tenth, you and I may just have to have an ego duel...
I congradulate you for immaculate grammar, however.

Eh, its only one of the best darned fantasy-humor series out there. Of course he's never heard of it, he's a teenager -- why, I didn't start reading it until I was 8!

Also used to indicate trailing off in a sentence, as opposed to breaking off suddenly, which uses a dash (--). Note: Dashes are longer than a hyphen, and since they aren't on a standard keyboard the use of two hyphens is considered equivalent to the longer dash.

My best advice when it comes to calculus... is get a TI 89!

Truer words have not been spoken. My calculus class years ago actually *required* everyone to have a graphic calc. TI-86s were most common then, but 89s were around too.

To clarify my statement above, the reasons I consider an 89 invaluable are:

Early on, it lets you fiddle around until you actually understand the rules -- using your own problems, rather than ones the teacher assigns.

Later on, you can use it to do a lot of the "grunt work" for various problems.

Towards the end, when it is no longer able to do problems for you, you can still use it to store your notes, including various rules and formulas.

When doing any math on it, it frequently has a function, somewhere, to help you out, if only you know what the function is, where it is, and how to use it

Its a lot better than even an 86 at formating whatever you put into it, as well as providing easy access to decimal or exact output for just about any equation you want to put in.

Yeah, well, having just google SVM I wish I'd kept my mouth shut -- looks like he's gone into high end calculus, where city college dares not tread. SVM is, if not beyond comprehension, then well beyond anything I've learned so far.
Either he's really lucky to be in a good high school, or that's a college course I took Advanced Placement Calculus (for college credit) about.. 6-7 years ago, and I don't remember even touching vectors until I got to some more advanced math classes at the university. Thankfully I wasn't a math major and did get spared things such as these

hm...

yeah, if you're doing SVM at the beginning of Calc, your school has a few things backwards...

yes, that is proper use of elipsis.

ah I see, so its a means for determining the innacuracy of a pair of data sets...
