Fleet Upgrade

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a way to upgrade all your ships in a fleet at once not just one at a time or all of a select type just all of your ships of one type that are in a fleet upgrade just all the ships in that fleet to your upgraded ship.

If this does not exist this would be a suggestion for a future upgrade that way if you don't have enough money to upgrade all of one ship type but, you have enough money to upgrade several ships you could just select a fleet of ships to upgrade therefore eliminating the need to keep selecting every ship to upgrade. Especially when you get close to the 20,000bc ceiling.

Apparantly there is an option in the details screen of a ship when you select it.

I never use that option tho, i usually just upgrade the design overwriting the old one. It says that is not recommended which is total nonsense because who wan'ts a list of old crap ship designs hanging around?? Not me! I have all my ship designs saved without components in the first place.

Each new game i will take the ship without components design, and save it with components under a new name, then that new name gets upgraded and overwritten right through the whole game and then deleted at the finish so as not to disturb me in a future game.

Oh but by mid game i am no longer upgrading all the ships of that category, just the design.... due to the useless 20000bc finance limit.

You can upgrade a single ship without removing it from a fleet, but you can't upgrade a fleet. There's another recent thread talking about upgrades and I mentioned a more generic upgrade panel. Something like that could cover situations where you want to upgrade a subset of ships, for instance, a single fleet as suggested in the OP. That would also be a good place to put an option to buy all or a subset of ships currently building.

I agree it's nonsense to expect ships to be renamed every time something is changed. But, that's the way it works and I've just learned to accept it. You *can* use the same name and it's not particularly problematic in DL, but it definitely causes problems in DA.

I just think having a fleet upgrade option could be very usefull in the game and by the sounds of it others agree.

Ah ic, yea even in DL i always save the game before entering the shipyard just incase i end up recieving a love letter from microsoft appologising for the inconvinience of my program being shut down!
