GalCiv lock up

Hey, I've got a problem with the game, but I can't seem to get information that matches what I've seen posted here. I'm running Vista, with all the updates and my machine has the nVidia 7400 Go video card. The driver version that Vista is reporting out is 7.15.10.9815 which it says is up to date. I'm a fair distance into the game, but I'm at a point where the game freezes. This occurs after I upgrade an influence star base. I've looked for the GalCiv program folder, but can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Windows's inbuilt driver updating is notoriously unreliable--98.15 is an old version, prior to when nVidia fixed the issue causing the driver to crash in GC2 on Vista.

Simply pop over to laptopvideo2go.com and get the latest Vista driver there. The issue was fixed in 101.41, so anything with that number or higher should sort it for you.

Wow. I tried to install 101.63 and it says it couldn't find a device to install. Any clues?

They probably didn't add your specific card to the .inf file.  If you post on their forums, they can help you with that.
