Please Stardock...

Fix the all programs mouseover

There are several nice skins included with WB6.  However, I prefer not to use them because of the mouseover effect on the all programs located on the start menu.

Is it not possible, after generations of Windowblinds, to actually make the "all programs" mouseover effect so that it's not a solid color as seen in so many skins? The non-attention to that detail has me using Aero more than WB6.

At least some skinners try to avoid this glitch, such as

https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=5814&libid=1 and https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=6254&libid=1

Stardock should fix that small detail in the Windowblinds program, or more skinners would try to avoid it.  Please don't try to tell me why the mouseover effect happens...I already know and it needs to be fixed.

We've noted that request.  I do not have the technical specs to why that is currently implemented like that.  But I am just acknowledging that your suggestion has been noted.

Most of my older skins dont have the "color block" Unfortunately I have started using that method again recently as making the all programs area the way you like it conflicts not only with people that use font overides but also any foreign language whose all programs text contains more than 10 Characters, I hate it too but in doing it the "cool" way it REALLY alienates far more more than just those who dont like the simple way such as yourself.

There really is no way around it short of Stardock putting a handy dandy all programs arrow content margin adjuster in Wbconfig.

Now thats using an background image for the all prgrams arrow.

The other option is to make ur skin using the same selected color as the color underneath all programs, that way on mousover you dont see the color block even if it is still technically there, however this REALLY restricts other areas of the theme severely as other elements of WB also rely on this color theme-wide.

Just another damned if you do damned if you dont area about skinning windows that I wish some attention would be paid to to. Having to compensate\compromise in one area to suit another is one, if not THE worst thing about WB skinning.

It's not as simple as you may think, I explained so everyone could gain a better understanding btw.

...And my original post still applies after more than two years. We still can't get the all programs mouseover fixed.

It is fixed in Vista \ 7, if your still in XP it never will be

In any case its up to the skinner to incorporate that in the theme. No matter what the OS.

Um, my XP skins, as old as they are, all have an All Programs mouseover image

Is that the image you mean?

What is amazing is that the OP found not way of getting an answer to the problem in two years.  Wonder if they contacted support in all that time? Hmmmm. :S

The thing is.. its not.. a problem.. Its entirely up to the individual skinner Philly... takes a little more effort and will cause issues on non- english systems, thats the reason more people didnt do it.

On vista.. its easy.

You can partially cure non-English systems by rotating the all programs text. The words 'All Programs' are longer in some languages which stretches the all programs arrow image (used to create the above) and making it not fit the start menu. Rotating the words stops it stretching the image.
