Weekly Poll: The WindowBlinds 6 Plunge

Upgrade! Upgrade! Upgrade!

This week's poll is all about WindowBlinds 6.  It seems like a good idea considering it was released into the wild just yesterday to some pretty positive press.  What we're wondering is if you've made the upgrade from WindowBlinds 5, and if not, do you intend to?  Since WindowBlinds 6 represents such a major step forward for skinning with things like animated start menus and Vista visual effects for Windows XP, we're very interested in the general opinion on whether or not people think it's worth upgrading now or later (or never).

Expect the results next week.

Yes....'did it' earlier today.  Simply backed up my WB skins [just in case] ....downloaded/installed.....painlessly...no prior uninstall - didn't even unload.

Works a treat....[thanks, Neil - and co] ....

I am thinking about ugrading, but before I`ll do that I have to know if the older WB`s will still work on it and are they still fully skinned???!!!
I have 2 PC`s one for XP and one for Vista can I use it with no problems on both???

Because I downloaded Adamant on Vista and it crashed, then I downloaded it on XP and it`s not fully skinned, but at least it didn`t crash!!!
(I use WB 5.5 on XP and 5.51 on Vista)

I am thankfull for any help I can get!!!!!

I would very much like to upgrade, but I won't until there's an available version of SkinStudio. The only thing I want to do (and I want to do it really bad) is give my skin on XP the blurred glass effect. I never create skins, I usually just modify them ever so slightly to my tastes. I can't justify the cost of buying SkinStudio, and am very grateful to Stardock for providing a free version. I just need that version available for the new WB format. As soon as it is, I'll upgrade to WB6.

Umm WB6 provides blurring in XP so if a skin makes use of that effect you can use it with WB6. I'm sure SkinStudio will be released soon as its already been in beta for version 6 so I see no reason to wait especially if you already use WB5 which didn't have blurring on XP.

mmm cookies...

Have been running the betas and installed WB6 yesterday. Everything's working as it should so far, except for the IntelliPoint issue Neil pointed out, but I can live with that. Hope it gets fixed though.

Other than that, kudos to the WB6 team.
