Very well, this is the deal: I don´t know anything about programming what so ever, I´m just about as technical that I can put some bread in the toaster. However, I enjoy surfing the internet or using the computer writing stuff for RPGs (p&p),and school.
Thou I have something I want to make it all just a bit more fun. Quite alot more fun from my point of view to be honest. I´m not actually asking anyone here to make what I´m about to describe (even if I really wouldn´t mind if someone would do it... honestly, I´d really apreciate it!
), I´m actually more kind of asking how hard/big of a task this would be to ask someone to do (you say "write" if I´m not totally out in the cold when it comes to modify/make programs, right?)
Very well, here it goes.
What I´ve imagined is a writingprogram (writing as in writing essays and stuff, not for prgramming) that looks like the total blackscreen that´s so typical in the matrix-movies. You should all get some kind of picture of what I´m talking about: The screen is in total darkness, all you can see is that small, green, blinking box that so eagerly pushes you to start writing something.
Ehm, I think I could more easily submit it all in a list:
-You must be able to make the whole screen black, not just the part that´s not covered by the standard program-frame of blue and a headline. All of it, covered.
-Any menue that´s for altering the font, size, or whatever must be able to be hidden until you push a certain button (or maybe even mouse over it, I don´t know how much to ask for is "too much!")
-The variety of fonts doesent have to be that very large. Just the one that is so typically computer-like is needed, and maybe a few other types that can stay in the same category (the one that I´m writing this in is of a sort that should do just fine I guess).
-The colour of the text should be quite light-intense-green ;](just as in the movies). A colour variation is not needed, but maybe the possebility to change the green`s tone.
-Fancy functions is not needed. All I´d like to have is to be able to make the font "Bold, Italic & Underlined". Maybe also the possibility to change the size of your text could be seen as a must (and to be able to have those different buttons that change where your text is located (head-edge to the left, to the right or centered or evenly made in the far ends of the screen: this might be a little overkill, but would be all the more superb)).
-Something that´s just a little something extra would be sound effects. Like tha small *bip bip bipeti bip*, or *cliirk click clirkedy crich* that you can hear every time a letter is typed. (The options for sound should, if the sound option is even possible from the start) atleast be ON/OFF, but some other kind of options could be fun aswell ^^ (such as different typing sounds or so)
-The possibility to copy what´s been written is of course of the most essential importance. This way you can easily write something in this TOTALLY AWESOME program, and then copy+paste into some normal kind, and send it in (if we´re talking in terms of essays and stuff).
-To be able to save it in this kind of program would be heavenly, but not really that necissary, aslong as you can copy+paste into other programs.
Well, that´s kind of all of it that I cancome up on like this on a whim at such a late hour. But very well, is there someone that could help me with this? In either maybe making the program, telling me how hard it actually would be for a programmer och maybe point me in the right direction of getting hold of someone that might be interested in this.
And I´m sure that I´ve made alot of typos, sorry.
