Stardock Central - Slow download speed

I've been trying all day down download SDC after renewing my suscription. Managed to get it downloaded, but when trying to download any component the speed does not go above 1-2Kb/sec. Is it this slow for a reason or is there something wrong on my end? If it helps the website and forums take ages to load as well, but everything else runs fine.

Thanks

What are you on dial-up, DSL, Cable?

Clean out you cookies, cache and temp files.

Don't have any other internet connection active when you try to download.

If it still runs slow try changing the server from 1 to 2.

Someone else may have some other ideas.

This is an issue, I've dealt with for the past 6 years.
I was on dial-up but switched to DSL about 2 years ago and still only download at 1 or 2 kb.
So you're not alone. I just download while I'm sleeping. LOL
And yes, I've switched servers, with no success.
Here's hoping the "new" SDC is better. Any bets?

It has nothing to do with cookies - I can't download anything that the speed hasnt been 1.2 - 1 .5 kbs for weeks.

I had to get someone else to download a file that was only 4.5 mbs cos it kept resetting back to zero for me. ( I have dial-up )

This person had DSL and the download speed was only 35 kbs/sec for them - hardly the speed for DSL.

I gave up downloading much for now.

Had that very same issue yesterday in regards to extremely slow download at around 2kbs,normally it ranges from 20kbs-130kbs,considering where i'm based it's more likley due to internet traffic on the US ISP servers, try downloading more often through out the day to find the optimum time,i usually find it's faster very early in the morning NZ time

ADSL users if your download speed here is slow do a speed test of your connection just to maker sure it aint at your end if you find your speed is down reboot modem if that fails try changing ether cable, modem cable to adsl filter, then try another known good adsl filter, if all that fails contact your isp to get em to do a line check as there could be issues with the lines themselves or a prob at the exchange

Dial up users your on your own

weatherbound:
your suggestion won't work for the topics issue as it's about internet speed
