Screen resolution prevents start-up

From the video options I switched to a higher resolution and now the game won't operate.

In what file will I find thid data so I can manually change back to my old resolution?

Right now I have a very attractive splash screen that won't let me do anything.

I already uninstalled the game and then re-installed it. That did not work.

I also tried to repair the game from the Control Panel.
