Sit Down and Shut Up

With palms together,
Good Morning Everyone,

So, in a sense, a very real sense, then, time is of our own making, as Godel points out, an ideal. We create time, more precisely, our perception of its passing. Yet, time does not pass. Things change, yet they do not change, as the moment some thing is different, it is no longer the same thing. Existence itself and all that is (in and out of it) has no meaning without Mind.

All twisted up.

To untie the knot, sit down and do nothing. Practice Myo Shin, mirror mind, and let things unravel of themselves. We do not do enough of this. Hence, we are caught in our own prattle.

As Brad Warner, a modern sage of sorts, has written, Sit Down and Shut Up.

Please note, we will begin a four week lecture series on the book by this title on September 9th.

Be well.

If the countryside seems boring, stop, get off your bike, and go sit in the ditch long enough to appreciate what was here before the asphalt came.

....you mean 'to sit in solemn silence, in a dull dark dock, awaiting the sensation from the short sharp shock, from the chippy little chopper on the big black block.' I heard the first part of that saying, 'Sit Down and Shut Up'....'Stand Up and Speak Out'

The idea of sittng down and shutting up, is of little use in cultures where freedom of speech is encouraged, but you are right on the button when it comes to hearing the voice that is often missed, for as silent as our thoughts sometimes are, so silent are the thoughts of the One with whom we have to do and by that I do not mean the taxman.

Peace,
Aeryck.
