Flickery rendering at accelerated rates

Just updated to 1.61 having not played for a few months. Previously the game ran fine and there has been zero hardware or software changes to my rig since I last played.

Now if I go to start a campaign and get to the screen that shows the race and has a rotating ship (in bottom right of central screen) the rotating ship seems to e rotating at hyper speed but is very jerky and also a bit flickery. Everything else on screen appears fine.

Also if i carry on through and start game most gfx are fien but ones like the planet animation in top left of screen on the planet management screen does same thing (rotates at a gazillion miles an hour and appears a bit corrupted)

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing an entire fersh download and still no luck.

I tried disabling every gfx option and removing the advanced rendering etc and still no joy.

Unsure what to do next as it does ruin the gameplay a fair bit as it just irritates the hell out of me. Not tried sticking with the game whilst this happens so don't know if in game combat movie is affected or videos etc.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. If this is a DA report, you'll find the debug in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar instead. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Note: If running on Vista with DA 1.6b2 or later, the debug.err is now located in My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar.
